the Council would be glad to be informed as early as possible whether sir Austen Chamberlain considers it necessary to impose any restrictions regarding the nature

of the accommodation provided.

Whilst it is probable by reason of the necessity

for expeditious construction and limitation of cost that any work carried out will be of purely temporary

construction, the Council would, owing to the possibility that the site may eventually be required as a civil

aerodrome, not wish to exclude from consideration the possibility of constructing facilities of a more permanent character where this can be done without a substantial

increase in cost or when the provision of temporary facilities would not be fully adequate to meet existing

requirements.
